The end is nigh for the original location of the Great Lakes Children's Museum. For years, it was located on M-22 but moved earlier this year to the Grand Traverse Mall. The building has been empty ever since, awaiting demolition and the new Freshwater Research & Innovation Center.
The building looks to be fantastic. Being built by The Christman Company, the groundbreaking will be on September 12 - just a few days away. It will be a location of innovation. And fresh water. And technology. You know, sciency stuff.
So you commuters and tourists and everyone else that have passed the building for years, enjoy your last few looks at it. Soon, it will be yet another memory.
