In the name of progress, Traverse City has a few fewer trees along the western section of M-72 / M-22:
The pre-work for this spring's construction, including the roundabout, required removal of some trees along M-72:
It doesn't look like much right now because it's winter and the normal winter Michigan coloring (brown) has returned. But here is a snapshot of what it looked like from Google Streetview:
Hopefully replacement trees will be planted to improve the look of that stretch of road. We'll have to wait until after construction is finished late in the summer, maybe fall. Here is the area to which I speak, an area I pass almost daily as I live on Leelanau close to TC.
