This isn't new news, nor is it fake news. Probably not very interesting news either. But one of the aims of this site is to offer a current view of Traverse City which we can look back in later and say "Hey, I remember that place".
It's only a matter of time for the retro - futuristic sign for Java to Gone is demolished. I've not heard of any plans, but the steamroller of progress moves on, and there is free land on South Airport, and I don't see that being a vacant spot forever.

Not being a coffee drinker, I never visited Java to Go. Is its failure my fault? Quite likely, and I take that heavy burden willingly. If they sold tacos, the chances of me visiting would have been much higher. And if they sold schnitzel, it would have been 100%.

But all we have now is an aging, overlooked and unloved building with cracking plaster and overgrown plants. It empty windows watch the slow-moving Subaru Outbacks (but I repeat myself) as they stop traffic from moving at a reasonable rate around the mall.

The tip container sits empty, never again to hear the cheerful sounds of coins dropped in. Well, it's probably empty. Man, now I wish I would have checked. In any case, the climbing plant is forever blocked from its morning caffeine hit. Poor plant.
