In Traverse City, you don't need to go far for a walk in the woods. Case in point, after an errand at Walmart, I walked the trails at Miller Creek located behind the Home Depot. The parking lot is located past the little tower at the four-way stop and right by Fuji. Several paths wind behind the strip mall and apartment building that define that area of town. You may not be far from the business of South Airport, but it feels much farther.
It's not a long system, but longer than you probably think it would be. It's a wonderful spot for a little after-errand wandering, stealing a few minutes in the woods before tackling the slow-moving Subarus on the south end of town.
And yes, there is a creek.
