Central Grade School will be getting a multi-year refresh, scattering its students to the four winds while the work is done. The school opened its door to show the community how it looks now and gave a preview of its future.
Walking the halls of the school brought back memories of my own elementary school, Pleasant Grove Elementary, in Lansing, MI, which was
demolished last year. It had the same feel, sounds and smell of a 100+ year old school.
Their auditorium was much better than Pleasant Grove's.
This looks more like my old school's "auditorium".
My favorite part was the abandoned third floor. The doors were chained, but just getting a glimpse was slick. Oh, to explore just a little more.
