Lighthouse adventure hook

A contact within the city reaches out to the PCs. Though not well known yet, a recent construction project in a rather ordinary house has led to a strange find.

The former home of Craulus, a now deceased captain and explorer, is being renovated. As work progressed, one of the basement walls was found to have a secret compartment, behind with were several valuable items, since taken and sold by the owner, including a large tile showing a map of the Balican region at some time in the past.

The contact had a chance to glance at the tile, and the geography was certainly correct, but there were several items on the tile that he was unaware existed. One that stands out in a lighthouse somewhere southeast of Balic, on the coast of the Sea of Silt.

The current owner of the mysterious tile, a sage, would be willing to sponsor the PCs if they would explore the region. While the sage is certainly too old to make the trip himself, he would be most interested in any information about the locations, and any artifacts that could be recovered.

DM: The lighthouse no longer exists, and has been overlooked for centuries, mostly because has been destroyed down to its foundation. However, something valuable does remain, if the PCs can find it.
