Nestled in a first floor shop in a row of two story buildings, Barban the tailor works his trade. The tailor has been working in the same shop for almost fifteen years, since the day he struck out on his own after his apprenticeship ended. Barban has a reputation as one of the best tailor in the city, and his prices are more reasonable than those in other quarters of town. The storefront is a large glassless window with a tan canopy over that Barban lowers to cover the window when the day is over. He also has a set of bone bars that he latches inside the window for extra security when the shop closes. The bone has been coated by chemicals bought from Lethen's Apothecary, giving the bars a hardness of 12 with 25 hp. The front and rear entrances are protected by DC 20 locks. The shop consists of two rooms. The first holds the front counter where Barban greets customers. It is a simple counter, wide enough to hold garments of various sizes. A rack takes up one side so that customers can hang garments as well. A doorway covered by a curtain separates the counter area from the workshop, the larger of the two rooms. Three desks are used by Barban and his two apprentices to repair and create clothing. The room appears to be in a state of confusion to most, though the tailors have a system that works well for them. Garments in various stages of repair or creation hang throughout the room. At the rear of the workshop are a series of wooden shelves that hold the tools and materials the tailors use for their work. Bolts of clothes and large pieces of leather, as well as spools of string and various cutting and sewing instruments can be found here. Beneath an old box of spare cloth squares is a secret compartment in the floor (Search DC 23) that holds the money for the shop, currently 115 cp. Barban�s apartment sits above the shop, and is reach by a staircase that is next to the entrance to the shop. Like the shop, it is two rooms, once that serves as a living / kitchen / dining area, and a smaller one at the back that serves as a bedroom. Both rooms have a singe large window that look out over the street (in the living area) and the alley (in the bedroom.) The furnishings are modest and the rooms are uncluttered. Barban the tailor is a friendly middle aged man with thin brown hair. He stands 5�6� tall and has a slender build. He gives very fair prices and has a solid customer base. He does mainly workmans clothes, as the wealthier clients typically take their work to tailors in better areas of the city.
