The Mouse
The Bards Quarter holds many thieves, and one of note is named
Kemron. Ask for him by this name and a blank stare will be the only
response, as he is known by The Mouse who know him at all.
The Mouse (also simply referred to as Mouse) is a specialist in
the field of burglary. His ability to move silently into buildings
and leave just as quietly are well known, and those needing his
services can get word to him through several inns in the Quarter.
Asking the bartender (while tipping generously) is the best way to
achieve the desired results.
Mouse makes his home in a two room second floor apartment on Silt
Storm Lane. The indoor staircase that leads to his home is quite
squeaky, and only Mouse knows exactly where to step in order to ascend
silently. The door has a difficult lock to pick (DC 22). The windows
of the apartment are covered on the inside by tightly fitted cloth tied
to hooks on the underside of the windowsill. Attached to the ties that
hold the cloth to the windowsill are small ceramic bells that jingle
when the cloth is released, alerting the occupant.
The first room is the living room. This sparsely furnished room
contains only a cushioned bench, table, and empty bookshelf with light
coming in through the single window. The second room is The Mouses
bedroom. It contains a simple yet comfortable bed, wardrobe full of
a number of different outfits, from simple and useful to tasteful and
showy.
Mouse keeps his wealth in a secret wall compartment behind his bed
at mattress level. It is well hidden (DC 27 to search checks) and is
six inches cubed in size. Inside are 105 cp, 35 gp, and seven gems
worth 50 gp each. Mouse prefers to keep his wealth in the form of gems,
as they are small, easy to transport, and he has a fence contact that
gives him reasonable conversion rates in exchange for a share of the
wealth on jobs the fence tips The Mouse off to.

Combat: Should The Mouse be forced into a combat
situation, or a situation where he needs to attack, he will use his
sneak attack ability. Forced into a fight with obviously superior
opponents (such as fighters), he will seek to flee, using his climb
skills if necessary.
Personality:Kemron is known as a personably cocky
person he is a bit arrogant, but doesnt make a point of being so.
He is not above bragging about previous jobs to potential clients,
but generally doesnt do so when around casual acquaintances. On a
job, he is strictly professional. He is fair in his dealings, giving
what was agreed to with any informant and expecting such fair dealings
in return. Slighting him would lead to him to take drastic
(and unpleasant) actions.
Appearance:Mouse is 56 tall and has a wiry build.
He has sandy blond hair and pale blue eyes, and is slightly paler than
most people in Balic. Typically, he wears dark, unimpressive clothing.
When on a burlary, he wears dark clothing, and wears his leather
armor if he expects trouble.
Equipment: Masterwork thieves tools, rope,
leather armor, short sword, five throwing daggers
Earring of the Hawk: This small gold and emerald earring is always in
Mouses ear. It gives him +10 to Listen checks.
