In November 2006, my wife and I went to New Zealand for our "babymoon", the last big trip before the birth of our daughter Elena the following April. This is the exciting tale of that trip.

I had been to New Zealand once before, in 2000, when I worked for EDS. They had sent me to work on the Global Knowledgebase project to Wellington to install a server and train their staff how to use the product. While I was there, I took my two week vacation and went around the South Island by bus and by train. As much fun as I had on that trip, I saw hardly anything of the North Island, a place I wanted to see this trip. Though we didn't see nearly everything there is to see on either island, we saw quite a bit.
