Here we are starting Day 3 of our Italian extravaganza. We headed south from Rome on some freeway, looking at all the Ferarri's as they zoomed by.
This was our first experience with the Autogrills, which are the Italian service plaza's and rest stops. They have hot sandwhiches and chips and pop and a various assortment of other things. My favorite sandwhich was the Olivia, which was meat and cheese with olives in the bread.
Of course, the Autogrills also had bathrooms. Be prepared to tip the host/ess. But it's well worth the twenty or fifty cents.
