After stopping in Amsterdam for a two hour layover and getting some Euros from the ATM, we boarded our KLM flight to Rome. We arrived and walked off the plane to the baggage area. There was no customs, as we were traveling between EU countries - all the passport checking was done in Amsterdam.

Rome doesn't have the nicest airport. We waited quite a while for my bag to get off the plane - Andrea's came off pretty quickly. After that, we found a Trafalgar person - two, actually - to try to get a transfer to the hotel, but we were not able to get one. There was some kind of mix up. Instead, we took the train from the airport.

If you intend on taking the train into Rome, make sure you get on the correct line. There are two different trains - one runs to Termini, the central train station in Rome and the other makes several other stops. We took the latter and then switched stations at Ostiense, walked to the metro station at Pyramide, and rode the B line south to Lauretina, where our hotel was located.

The picture is of a subway car. Notice the grafiti - there is a ton of grafiti in Rome and in most other cities in Italy, with the possible exception of Venice. You just get used to it.
